Ebay Concealer Palette Review

Hello :)

Recently I was browsing on Ebay when I came across a concealer palette for £2.85! (Available here)As a sufferer of bad hereditary under eye dark circles, I was well up for trying it! It came from Hong Kong so the delivery was estimated between the 27th August and the 12th September, when I ordered on the 9th of August, so it was meant to take from around 3 weeks or more. However, it came as a lovely  surprise when it arrived yesterday, only 1 week after ordering, and free postage as well!

Here it is, there is a nice range of colours, obviously most of which I won't actually get any use out of but oh well, it was £2.85!

These are the sizes of the palette, I think this is a nice size because its not tiny so you're not getting any product but its not to big to fit in the average makeup bag and its slim so doesn't take up and excessive amount of space. However, the only downside to it being slim is that this means you don't actually get a great deal of product and with the amount of concealer I use, I am afraid that I will hit pan before not too long, but I feel like I cannot complain due to the tiny price tag!

Now onto the colours! I spotted this idea when browsing other blogs for reviews of this product before I went ahead and bought it, and I thought this was actually a really nice touch and helped me to see what colours were available and if they really looked like they do in the pan. So, credit to the lady who did this before me, I hope you don't mind me copying you, however, sadly, my sieve brain cannot remember the name of the blog!

The first 4 colours in the palette are correctors, with an extremely glittery highlighter type one (number 1). Whilst number 1 might be nice as a party eyeshadow base or colour, or even for body art - if that's your thing - I think it is too thick and far to sparkly for highlighter on my face. The 2nd is a green corrector for cancelling out redness, I have not yet tried this particular one, but I did believe that correctors were just a plea for more money and wouldn't really work, however after trying the Natural Collection Green Corrector I have changed my mind! 3rd is a pink colour and another corrector, however by Green Correctors being used to correct redness and the fact that pink is just a lighter version of Red, I can only assume that a pink corrector is for green :/, however I do not often have green on my face! Sometimes they are advertised to correct dull skin, so I am looking forward to trying this out! After a quick trusted google, I have found that pink is actually used for under eye circles with yellow tones, perhaps this is where I have been going wrong, I am definitely excited to use it now! (The place I found this out is actually worth a look  - link) And finally, probably the main reason I bought the palette - the 4th is a yellow corrector. I have heard time after time that a yellow corrector immediately diminishes under eye bags - yay! - by correcting blue-ey tones so I was super excited to try this!

Next are just the general covering concealer colours, it is nice that - even if there isn't your colour in these, it's simple to just mix two - or even 3 - together and create your personal perfect blend.

So now - after rambling- what the post is actually about - DOES IT WORK?

Firstly, I tried the concealer on a blemish that has annoyingly appeared on my face recently, and it did work, it lasts okay, but not really all day if outside, which I have been today and today is the only day I've had to test it so far- but the green corrector and number 5 in the concealer worked perfectly in covering it.

I also quite liked the feel of it on my skin - it is very think, however unlike some thick concealers it was easy to blend and didn't feel or look very thickly piled on, it actually felt quite moisturising I thought.

So there it is - my horrible dark circle! The yellow concealer made a bit of a difference, it brightened my eye but not quite the miracle I was hoping for! I think the problem is that my eye bags are much more purple than blue, and they also have a tint of brown which seems to be visible under any amount of concealer or powder - even foundation. I am pleased with the outcome of this concealer for the price - and I think if I use another one as well it will be a bit better - and I really do like the finish of it, but I don't think the yellow corrector worked enough miracles to convince me to go the full mile and spend £16 on Benefits 'Lemon Aid' like I was contemplating.

Is there a colour that corrects purple or brown?

Once I put a mixture of number 5 and 7 on top of the yellow concealer, it did seem to be much brighter and cover my dark circles quite well. I think because I am so aware of them and quite insecure about them I will see them through anything and it is hard for me to understand that maybe other people cant see them as much as I can - but I do think this concealer has covered them well.

I would definitely say that I would repurchase this - it is very good and for half the price of any decent low end drugstore concealer - I cant complain! It covered my blemish nicely and really did brighten the area under my eye with a natural finish.

ChitChat Lip Crayon and Primark Lip Stain

Hello,

I am going to be reviewing both of these lip products -
Chit Chat Lipstick Crayon - £1 From Poundland
Opia Lip Stain Pen - £1.50 From Primark

I recently bought these 2 products so I thought I'd review them.

I got this Lip crayon in the Coral colour because I liked the look of this now most, however now I have tried it I am hoping to pick it up in the other 2 colours - Nude Brown and Bright Pink.

Firstly the negatives - I Wasn't really expecting much for a pound so it didn't come as a surprise when it mushed the first time I used it - but I think this was because I left it in the back of a car in a bag all day on a really hot bad - so my fault! And it also doesn't last too long on my lips but these 2 things are not much of a price to pay for the tiny price tag.

Now for what I like - I love the way it subtly brightens and adds colour to my lips without giving too intense colour - so I can use it for a lovely natural look or also over the top of a brighter lipstick for a glossy look. I also quite like the packaging - I find it simple but effective and its easy to apply - so perfect for travelling.

I really like this Lip Stain - For £1.50 again I wasn't expecting too much but I'm really impressed. There were 3 colours - a lighter pink, this one and a bright red. I would like the lighter pink too but the red is very dark and I'm not sure it would suit me - but maybe if I went to a party or somewhere in the evening it would be good.

I cannot fault anything about this - it literally lasts such a long time - its hard to get off! I love the colour and the way it is easy to apply. Definite buy before going to a more expensive one!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo's

Hello :)

If you haven't already heard of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow creams then where have you been? Anyway, today I am going to be talking about the 2 shades which I have. I received these as a present long before they were such a big 'hype' and there are also some other colours which I'd like to get.

I have the colours 05-Eternal Gold and 15- Endless Purple

They really do last all day and they are brilliant for use on their own or as a base for powder eyeshadows, the consistency is fairly thick and creamy but they aren't too hard to blend with fingers or a brush.

They retail for £4.99 which isn't too bad at all considering how long they last. So little is needed to create such an effect.

This is the colour 05- Eternal Gold, I only have a tiny bit on here, blended with my fingers and it gives a lovely subtle look which I really like.

This is the colour 15- Endless Purple which is a less common one for people to have , I suppose as it's quite a bright and vibrant colour, but I still really like this one too. I also think that it complements my green eyes :)

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow Eternal Pink

I really like this one in Eternal Pink - I think it looks so subtle and would be lovely to sweep over eyelids or even as a base for any other eyeshadows.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 HR - Permanent Taupe

Another one which I like the look of is Permanent Taupe - It also looks very subtle and like it would go with anything and could fit so many different make up looks.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 HR - On & On Bronze

I also love this one in On and On Bronze - I think it would team really nicely with Eternal Gold, or any of the others really and it also seems like a slightly darker colour, which I think I may even be able to use in the crease as a contour.

Review of L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara

Hello :)

Today I'm going to do a review of my all time favourite mascara which is L'Oreal Telescopic.

It is about £10.99 from Boots or Superdrug, and whilst this is on the more expensive range of drugstore mascaras, I think its worth it!

The plastic brush seems to not pick up much mascara, meaning that it doesn't clump at all and it lasts a very long time.  I have had this particular one since the beginning of May and it doesn't seem to be running out any time soon.

This before/ after picture shows the mascara after a couple of coats, but to do this I only needed to dip the brush in the pot once for each eye.

The only very small criticism I can make about the mascara is that before using it I have to take the brush out, then put it pack into the pot then out again to prevent it clumping and I'm not sure why, that just seems to work.

I just really love this mascara, it is my 'go-to' mascara and I will keep re-purchasing it!

Collective Haul

Hello,

I was recently staying at my grandparents house for a few nights and I went shopping so I thought I'd share my purchases with you. I first went to Camden Market in London, I love the market there. Then I went quickly to Primark and there are also some bits from Poundland and odd little things from a couple of shops and also things that were kindly given to me.

So there it is... Everything I bought :)

So, as I mentioned, I first went to Camden Market. I didn't really buy much in Camden but what I did pick up I love.

Add caption
I am sorry as I seem to have not taken separate pictures of each of these items but I will describe them here. I first got a cushion cover, which is the purple thing at the bottom. I got this for £1.99 in a little shop there in the market and I thought it was beautiful and will go in my room well. In the same shop I got the 2 bracelets on the left, for 49p each, which I thought was a major bargain! Then I picked up this handmade floral head garland, they were 2 for £5 and I bought one and my cousin the other, so they were £2.50, but only £3 if you buy one. I am afraid there isn't a brand for the cushion and bracelets as ,as far as I know, these are only available at this stall and are one off type pieces, however the garland is from a brand called Poppy Daisy and although the site is undergoing maintenance at the moment, they will soon be available here.

I also picked up this floral shirt in Camden at a little stall for £5, which I am very pleased with :). I have never heard of the brand of this shirt, but the tag says 'Frankenwalder'.

Next on to Primark. I am quite impressed with myself for buying only this small amount in Primark as I am generally drawn in buy the deals and end up buying a lot, however I did put a lot of things down at the till, which I do slightly regret now but I like all the things I did get.

I'll do the boring thing first, I Got this pack of scrunchies as I really like how they look with ponytails or buns in my hair and they were £1 for 3!

Also for only £1 I got this backcombing brush, I had wanted one so of course when I saw one as cheap as this I was really happy, and it also has a nice little parting splitter thing on the end which is handy.

Next I got this Lip Stain for £1.50, I have wanted to try a lip stain also and I wasn't previously aware that Primark's brand Opia did one, but I'm excited to try this. It is available in this dark pink, a lighter pink and also a bright red colour.

I then got this beautiful flower hairband to go over a bun. It was also £1.50 and I just LOVE it!

Lastly I did get a pack of amazing glittery foam stickers for £1.50 however they were for my little sister so I wasn't able to photograph them.

I got this Natural Collection Loose Powder from Boots in the colour Transparent. It was only £1.99 and I have used it before and find it more successful than using some pressed powders that I have tried.

We had a quick walk around Dunelm Mill and, although I could've bought so many exciting things, I decided to be practical and get this organiser. It was reduced from £4.99 to £1.24 and I am going to use it to store my many shoes, which I leave around my house regularly.

Another hair accessory now! This is from New Look and was also reduced, from £6.99 to £2 and its a lovely little floral stretchy headband.

Now for Poundland. I know that some people may find it cheap or weird to buy things from Poundland but I find it amazing that you can pick up such bargains there!

I felt last week like I might start to apply some of my makeup with sponges occasionally and when I saw that I could pick up 25 for £1 I thought they'd be perfect!

Unfortunately last week saw the end of my loved travel eyelash curlers, which I preferred to normal ones so I picked up these cute Hello Kitty ones as a replacement.

Next I saw this lipstick crayon from the brand Chit Chat, which is Poundland's own brand, I have wanted to try a lipstick in a crayon form and I really like this coral colour, and I want to pick up the nude and pink colours that were also available.

This was the last thing I picked up in Poundland and I'm SO pleased with it! This used to be my favourite mascara, even when it was called 'Skyscraper' however when Collection 2000 changed to just Collection, they seemed to scrap this product. So when I saw this in there I was over the moon!

It's lovely because the brush is so fine so it gets all of your lashes and the other side is used to separate the lashes if they become clumped.

Lastly onto things I was kindly given by my lovely grandparents.

I got this oversized grey t-shirt as it was unworn and I love oversized clothes and it is from M&S.
On the t-shirt are these wax pictures which my Grandma made at a class and I think they are beautiful as so relaxing to look at...

I also received this sample sized Clinique Up-Lighting highlighter, it is only slightly shimmery which I am really liking about it and its great for use on the tops of my cheeks.

They then gave me these little cards to make with my little sister, each card makes a dinosaur model and I know this is really random but I just thought they were really cool.

This is a little compact fan from my Grandma with a beautiful painting of birds and flowers on it.

Finally these 4 lipsticks. I really love each of these.

Estee Lauder All Day Frosted Apricot 39 - This is a lovely bright coral orange/pink colour

Colorsport Lipstains Gold - Tropic 11 This is a lovely nude colour

Clinique Long Last Lipstick - Creamy Nude - Again a Beautiful Nude but with more pink undertones

Clinique Long Last Lipstick - All Heart - a lovely deep but fairly natural pink colour

Thank you for reading :)
